I have just discovered some VHS video cassettes which have some white fungus on the top of the tape, You can see it through the video cassettes windows.
However when i lift the video cassettes, the tape inside looks fine, I haven't tried playing them yet, the tapes are about 12 years old and they do have content on them which I would like to watch again so can they be restored? |

| i've had DVD's degrade over time, in odd ways too, sometimes the silver film peels away from the edges towards the center, and I've even had a few cd's succumb to something quite strange, tho this tape fungus has been around a few years i recall in the mid-80's when i got my first tape with tape fungus, i removed all the white fungus from the tape with water and cleaned the inside of the tape housing and it never came back. |
