| I have five minidv tapes from 2002, i filmed in 16:9 but when I transferred the tapes over to my laptop it ends up being letterbox on 4:3, what am i doing wrong. |

| Digital camcorders have a ratio of 1.78:1 or 4:3 letterboxed as it is commonly known, Essentially letterbox means that the image is going to be wider than it is tall. With letterboxing typically you will always see these black bars at the top and bottom of your screen, so the only way to fix this is to crop the black bars off the image. |

Hey thanks, looks like i don't have real widescreen on my camera, just have to crop the image, what the best program to do that. |
