What character was most interesting, detailed and better developed, IYO?

Father Damien's character from The Exorcist struck me this way, as his personal life and Church life was pretty much an open book before coming in contact with the Demon.

His depression over his mothers fast deterioration. His faith slipping slowly away. His dreams. His alcoholism. His daily jogging routine. All of this made his character seem more realistic to me. And I was engrossed in his character till the tragic end.
