Are There Any Abandoned Buildings In The Tyne And Wear Area!
I been looking to take some photos and want to explore around some abandoned places in Newcastle, Gateshead or Sunderland but unfortunately places like Ravensworth Castle and such we can't get into as they are private, and most other places been knocked down now,so does anyone know of any places we can get into and whereabouts they are, thank you! |

I seen a lot of reports about very old and abandoned buildings around Sunderland in newspaper and such, if you are really looking something you should try Google and do a search, it shouldn't be too difficult to find out exactly where it is from the photo and text, I know there are a few derelict places in Newcastle between and around Newcastle Central Station and the Metro Arena like the Roman wall and some 19th century bits and pieces near the bank of the Tyne.
Just outside Tyne and Wear in Northumberland is the old St Georges Hospital in Morpeth which was the Northumberland county lunatic asylum but has been closed for a few years now, I would imagine it should be a great place to explore if you can contact someone to possible to get in, can't tell you what the security would be like, in places like that but i guess it would be high because of vandalism and foreign squatters.
If you do find someplace that's easy to get too, would you mind letting us know where it is? maybe by post photographs here on the forum. |
