| I am looking for camera microphones for two reasons, I need one microphone to connect to my computer for adding a voice over into my productions, a few people have said good thing about Audio-Technica microphone, as i need another microphone to record on set with actors speaking, i think someone here recommended a boom mike with a dead cat, I am connecting it to my VCR, I don't know what gives the best quality sound for the price, i do not have a really big budget, but i am still not looking to spend serious bucks on a microphones. |

I've been looking for a professional microphone for years, so i pick up the Audio-Technica ATR-35S after reading a few reviews in some video magazines and I was astounded by the sound quality of this microphone.
I bought it for a trip to Mexico to use with my camcorder, a 3chip Panasonic, I was going for work, with a crew, but I wanted to shoot some travel videos of my own, On my last trip to Mexico I did the same, but the camera microphone sounded lousy.
The only issue i had was there's no battery light, My camcorder does not monitor sound in the field, so if my battery dies or the mic is not turned on, i can't tell if the sound is working or not, if you do get this microphone keep an extra battery or two on hand, incase accidentally left on when stored, you have an immediate backup to use. |
