what option would you says is more ideal when having to use a camera's internal mic for on set sound recording, should I use the 12 bit/32kHz or the 16-bit/48 kHz mode?

| If you're using a DV camera from which i guess you do, you must check your audio settings, lots of digital camcorders are coming from the factory with the audio settings set at 12 bit/32 KHz, digital DVD camcorders have two settings- 12 bit and 16 bit, The 12 bit setting records at 32 kHz and the 16 bit setting records at 48 kHz, There is no reason to ever use the 12 bit setting unless you are planning on doing overdubs directly into the camera, so a 16 bit setting is mandatory for any video production that will be sent to a production house for dvd mastering. |
